Go Go: Trouble Funk – Good To Go
I know all you crate diggers out there can relate to this. Out for a little breakfast on a Saturday morning afternoon, a delicious proscuitto and brie panini and a spicy pot of chai from Clipper Cafe in Glebe, and thought hey, why not take a quick look at the markets around the corner. There are usually a few guys there selling second hand vinyl, and although it’s mostly the same guys, it’s worth trawling through each week because even though you KNOW you are gonna be digging through the same shit over and over, they occasionally add new bits and pieces.
A quick peek naturally ended up being a good hour trawling through about 7 or 8 boxes of records in the hot hot sun, but you know how it goes — once you’ve taken a peek there’s no turning back…you never know what you’re going to miss if you don’t go through EVERY SINGLE BOX!
Well, all of those boxes later and I didn’t come up with much. The Australian pressing of Trouble Funk‘s 1986 go go jam Good To Go, plus gothic rock band Sisters of Mercy’s 12″ single of This Corrosion, with the pair cashing in at the hefty price of $7. Was it still worth every second spent? You know it!
Vinyl forever baby!
PS, try and get hold of Droppin’ Bombs (The Definitive Trouble Funk) on CD or Vinyl for more Trouble Funk! It’s deleted of course, but was released in ’98 and isn’t too hard to come across.
