In yesterday’s interview with Hysteric he mentioned his all time favorite electro record, IT & My Computer – Eat My Computer. Released on French minimal electro label Invasion Planète in 2000, we think it is probably their most accessible record — and by that we mean that most people that hear it usually like it, not that the record is easy to get hold of. Oh no, this like many Invasion Planète records, is very rare and very in demand, regularly fetching prices of over €100 on the second hand market. But luckily for you guys, here at Cold Crush we love you all so we are going to give you a little sneak peek at one of the tracks, High Score, recorded fresh from RETALI8‘s 12″.
Eat My Computer
If you don’t know, It & My Computer is another alias of Alexandre Gand, best known as Le Syndicat Electronique. While his L.S.E sound is usually raw, uncompromising and angry, the sound of It & My Computer is much friendlier, fun electro pop with 8 bit arcade machine style sounds, catchy synth riffs and a strong Kraftwerk influence. The It & My Computer sound reminds us a little more of his label mate Porn.Darsteller who also did some really catchy synth pop tracks on Invasion Planète and Hague label Crème Organization.
Hysteric will be rocking the decks live at Cold Crush this Friday night, and we’d say there is a good chance you will hear something from this record so be there Sydney cats!
